Watermarks like that are done on purpose. Sometimes they are easy to cover, but it's mostly done so the art will get freacking credited when you repost in websites like this. Doesnt prevent theft 100%, but it makes a bit harder, or forces the person to actually ruin the artwork (not everybody has editing skills).
